Module 4
Manage & use calendar functionalities
Customers may have questions relating to managing and using their calendar. In the in-app Knowledge Library you will find extensive information on the following topics:
Manage calendar settings
Calendars are integrated with email, contacts, and other features of Outlook on the web. Customers can use several calendar options to change the default appearance and other settings for their calendar. For more information on this topic, see the self-help page on managing calendar settings
Manage calendar events
Customers may ask questions related to creating, modifying, or deleting a meeting request or appointment in Outlook.com. For more information on this topic, see the self-help page on managing calendar events
Manage birthday and holiday calendars
Customers can ask questions related to adding or deleting a birthday event or a holiday calendar in Outlook.com. See the add a birthday eventarticle on how this can be done.
Share calendars
When a customer shares their Outlook.com calendar with people, those people are able to add it directly to their calendar view in Outlook. Depending on the permission a customer gives them, they can view their calendar or edit it. For more information on this topic, see the self-help page Outlook.com calendars.
Import calendars
There are several reasons why a customer might want to import Outlook items from an Outlook Data File (.pst). For example:
- They want to move Outlook items from one email account to another email account.
- They want to move Outlook items from one PC to another PC.
- They want to move Outlook items from PC to Mac or Mac to PC.
Customers can import calendars or subscribe to calendars, including getting calendars from other programs when they import iCal calendars into Outlook.com. They can import events from a .ics file to their existing calendar or subscribe to a calendar online and receive automatic updates (known as an ICS subscription or an iCal subscription). Customers can import calendars from websites or calendar programs that support the .ics file format, such as Apple iCal, Google Calendar, and Mozilla Lightning. For more information on this topic, see the self-help page on importing calendars.
